Arms usage while riding - cloud_glide - November 2, 2025 What do I do with my ARMS while riding? In general they seem kind of useless, just swinging around like they don’t do much. But at the same time, this swinging actually feels kind of natural and relaxing when I’m cruising. When I’m launching, climbing, or hitting tighter turns, they do come up a bit for balance and leverage, but most of the ride they just hang there. I’m curious what other EUC riders do with theirs, do you keep them ready or just let them swing? Any tips or tricks for using them without feeling stiff or awkward would be awesome to hear. RE: Arms usage while riding - Guru - November 22, 2025 I think you’re doing it right! On an EUC, arms don’t need to be doing much most of the time. Letting them swing or relax naturally is totally normal and it helps with balance and keeps your upper body loose. When you’re accelerating, climbing, or taking sharper turns, using your arms a bit for balance is also normal. Most riders just let their arms move however feels stable and comfortable, instead of holding them in one "proper" position. The only real tip is: don’t force anything. Keep your shoulders relaxed. Let your arms move freely and use them when you need a little extra balance or control. The more you ride, the more natural it feels. These PEVs are fairly new, and it might feel a bit awkward but that is because you are on a single wheel and no natural place for arms to go. RE: Arms usage while riding - cloud_glide - December 7, 2025 That makes sense, thanks! How much do you think arm position actually affects stability? Like, if I consciously keep them lower or closer to my body versus letting them swing freely, will it make a noticeable difference in control, or is it mostly just about comfort? RE: Arms usage while riding - Olive - December 12, 2025 Would it make most sense to spread your arms as far out as possible? Longer arms = more balance ??? |
