E-bike for a 9 year old? - HipsterDad - August 31, 2025
So my 9 year old is whining about getting an e-bike. He is pretty good with his regular bike, but I still have concerns such as safety, etc. I was thinking of making him wait 2 more years, but it is getting difficult with the whining and I can't seem to be able to focus his attention elsewhere. I see that this is a new forum, but maybe someone has some experience?

You might want to check your local laws. Assuming you are in the US some states have minimum age requirements for e-bike use. As an example in California for class 3 E-Bikes you must be 16+ and you have to wear a helmet.
