charging limiter to preserve battery life - Noodle - August 21, 2025

Looking for an electric scooters that have a battery charging limiter where you can cap charging to 80%.   I saw this feature in one of the Segway scooters where it can be set via the special app.  Any other scooters that have this feature?   There is a similar feature in Teslas.   Is this worth the extra cost, or overrated ?

I believe Segway SuperScooter GT3 Pro has this feature and it is done via their app.

Some other scooters have apps (Example: Niu & Hiboy) but this particular feature I believe is only Segway

For any battery you can eye ball it based on timings.  Eventually you would know how long it takes from 0 to 100% and you stop charging around the 80% mark.  Keep in mind they do not charge evenly, so the top percentages of the charge take longer. You can further verify it with a multimeter.  As an example, a 52v battery when full charged would be around 58v charged.
