If we really want to go green, we should include all vehicles, not just cars. Electric mopeds and motorcycles are getting more popular, especially in cities, and they need charging too.
A big problem is that most car chargers don’t work well with smaller bikes because the plugs and batteries are different. Fast-charging is harder for motorcycles because their batteries are smaller and vary more. Space is also an issue, since car chargers take up a lot of room and two-wheelers could get in the way. Battery swapping is an option, but it needs standard batteries, lots of spare ones, and costs more to set up.
Smart charging and managing many small batteries on the grid is tricky too. Chargers and swap stations also need more maintenance with frequent use. Even with these problems, including two-wheelers is important to cut pollution in cities. Cities should find a mix of charging and swapping solutions that are easy, cheap, and convenient for everyone.
All cities and governments are strapped for cash. Going green has recently lost some political momentum. They want energy for AI and not electric vehicles!! Private investment woud probably be ideal in the current economic situation.
